His birth name is Alexis Thompson while his mother's name is Amanda Thompson and his father's name is Scott Thompson. Lexi was born in the US and is of White ethnic background. Lexi's talent in golf can be traced back to her father, who was an avid golfer. He first began to play golf when he was a young age. In later years, he became a coach after he stopped competing. Her two brothers are both professionals in golf. For her education Lexis was homeschooled through her time in high school and as of September 2012, she had gained admission to Louisiana State University to pursue an undergraduate education. By now she must have completed her degree, but the grade she received from the institution is yet to be determined. Lexis was born into the same family who played golf and would have had plenty of experience with the sport. She started playing at a very young age and became the youngest player to be selected for the US Women's Open at the age of 12 years old in 2007. She did not win the contest, however she won the Aldila Junior Classic in the same year and became the second. She was the most youthful American Junior Golf Association player (AJGA) as well as being the youngest to have won the Westfield Junior PGA Championship at the at the time.
